Nómada cine comunitario is a training and filmmaking project that seeks to promote social transformation through art.
We currently train people in a situation of human mobility, and the host community. We see cinema as a tool that contributes to the socialization of issues that concern citizens in general. We work with the support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM Ecuador) and we are a non-profit project.
'Yakuaya' means the essence of water in a native language of Ecuador. The documentary follows the journey of a drop of water from a high glacier to the sea. On the way the water touches the lives of a peasant, is enclosed in the rhythm of a water bottling factory, passes through a city, transforms the life of a woman, awakens hope in a desert and welcomes the innocence of two children beside the sea. A stunningly original and beautiful film that turns water into a marvel.
The Madambé Festival brings together musicians who today preserve the living essence of their traditions. It tells the story of an ancient journey—from the human origins in sub-Saharan Africa to the center of the world—and the return journey, where music and dance reconnect with the core of human emotion. It is a dialogue of ancestors, dreaming of the future through living traditions. This meeting is essential to preserve memory, share knowledge, and create pathways for integration between the peoples who continue to resist and build.
